Management System Certification
We certify that an organization has documented and implemented a management system that conforms with a specific national or international specification. As the national certifier we provide an independent assessment of the relevant system. This verification and resulting certification serves as attestation to the effectiveness and validity of the system, and to our commitment to professionalism, quality, safety and good governance.

Product Certification
Our SABS Approved Mark Scheme is a highly recognizable symbol of credibility and a powerful marketing tool, which reinforces a product's intrinsic features. The use of the SABS Mark on a product strengthens point-of-sale impact and gives it greater prestige in the market place.
Because the SABS Mark Scheme ensures independent third-party certification, it gives clear evidence that the product bearing the SABS mark conforms to a specific South African or International standard. An ongoing quality management programme is an essential part of the Mark Scheme, which is a clear demonstration that your company is dedicated to quality management.

Our Auditors
One of the major influences in conformity assessment is the competence of the auditors who conduct the management system or product certification activities at your company.
All SABS auditors are employed with a technical background and undergo a strenuous training, coaching and mentoring programme resulting in their registration of competence within SABS.
In addition all Lead auditors are required to gain external registration with the Southern African Auditor and Training Certification Association (SAATCA) or another internationally recognised auditor registration body.
SABS auditors have to complete a formal 12 module competency development programme before they can be allowed to audit our clients. This programme includes business principles and auditing techniques.
